The eighth annual Newport Clambake and Seafood BBQ will include food and fun on the beach, all with a historical theme that recalls the days when Nye Beach was actually a separate village from Newport, connected by a muddy set of wooden planks. The event will begin with a pet parade at the Performing Arts Center at 9:30 a.m., ending at the turnaround at 9:45 a.m. A free shuttle to the event will be available at the courthouse, on Olive Street, one block from Highway 101.

The thirtieth annual Yachats Music Festival will take place July 9-11th at Yachats, Oregon. The Yachats Music Festival is the summer classical festival of California-based Four Seasons Concerts. Newport is the kickoff for the Oregon Tuna Classic Tournament event series. This year’s entrants will be departing from the Port of Newport. South Beach in Newport will play host to the tuna check in, as well as the festivities including a BBQ hosted by community leader Rogue Brewing.
The mandatory Captains meeting will be held at 6:00pm on July 17th. at the Rogue Brewery. The Newport/Depoe Bay event will be an exciting time both on and off the water. "Painting the Town" is the theme of this year's Toledo Summer Festival, set to kick off with a sidewalk chalk show on Thursday. A wide variety of events will then take place on Friday, Saturday and Sunday including parades, a carnival, the annual logging show, craft and food booths, a large fireworks display and more.
