The streets of Bend fill with art patrons on the first Friday of every month as Downtown Bend and Old Mill District art galleries stay open late with receptions for guest artists and special presentations of new exhibits. In addition, the First Friday experience also includes musical performances and refreshments at selected galleries. 5-9pm.

A seasonal downtown Bend ritual for more than 20 years is starting up again for 2009. It's the annual Fall Art Hop that is held the first Friday of the month from 5:00 to 9:00 pm. Bend Downtowners Association Executive Director Chuck Arnold says about 60 businesses participate in Art Hop. The event is held bi-annually with Spring Art Hop taking place the first Friday in April.

Bend Farmers Market is blossoming into one of Oregon’s leading farm–direct marketplaces, bringing together growers and producers with people who hunger for fresh, local, healthful foods and agricultural goods. The Market occurs twice a week at two locations. We’ve also continued to reach out to the community as the first farmers market in Oregon to launch a Farm to School program.
Experience one of the most in-depth exhibits examining the lives of those who sought opportunity, fortune and community on the Western frontier. This multi-sensory exhibit features frontier saloons, gambling halls, and bordellos in addition to live, authentic portrayals of those who worked at these establishments, including the “sporting men” running the games (they’ll invite you to play – and even reveal how to cheat).
For 20 years, Munch & Music has been the favorite Thursday evening gathering for Central Oregon. This award-winning series features: free Thursday night concerts with live music, restaurant vendors, and a variety of art vendors.
Bend Summer Festival is Central Oregon's signature artist event of the summer, the Bend Summer Festival, draws artists and street performers from all over the Northwest. The event features a wide array of performing arts including dance, children’s activities, and the best regional and national jazz, blues, rock and international musicians. Additionally there is a food court with more than 20 restaurants, beer and wine.
